Unforeseen and
determination

The meeting brought together 65 participants from Algeria, Morocco, Tunisia, Egypt, Libya, Turkey, France, Spain, Italy and Portugal (10 countries). Only 65 people out of a planned 100 were able to participate, as participants from several countries were unable to obtain the required visa to enter Algeria.

The meeting started with tourist and cultural visits. The Algerian partners of the meeting led a visit to the Kasbah of Algiers. This collective time favoured meetings and allowed the creation of a real group dynamic. Two days of thematic workshops allowed the participants to present their projects and to deepen the common reflection around the themes of the project.

However, the meeting could not take place as planned. Indeed, the official authorisation necessary for the activity, which should have been delivered the day before the meeting, was refused due to the decree of a national mourning of 3 days following the crash of a military plane near Algiers, preventing the delivery of authorisations on the whole territory. Although the programme could be rethought at the last moment, together with the participants who adapted to this situation and made the most of the new spaces proposed, a certain number of times initially planned, such as the times open to the public, could not be held.
